because i'm moving to oklahoma next month, i decided to reach out to some people to see if we could hang out before i left. one of those people was cindy, my childhood best friend. we were the closest of friends but in 2007 i had to move cities, and i haven't seen her since then! it took us a long time, but we finally saw each other two days ago! we had a really awesome day and it was so nice to catch up with her. it was like i had never left! we took a few polaroids pics which made me happy :3 i love adding more pictures to my collection.
so the first thing that we did was go straight to my old hometown, lil saigon!! we were so hungry and of course lunch is the best way to have great conversations. we went to nha hang 1.99, and both ordered com ga chien (chicken w/ rice and egg). the sauce is absolute crack. i love this stuff. i thought it would be funny to take pictures of both of us taking pictures of our food lol.
so yummy!! i wish i could have this every day!
afterwards we went shopping at the asian garden mall. it's basically a vietnamese mall but there are some chinese and korean vendors in there as well. we went near closing time so there wasn't much time to do or get much but we still managed to get something!
i got us matching macaroon keychains!! i failed to take a picture of cindy's, but i got her a matching purple one. mine is pink, of course. i love it because it's so soft and squishy and matches my instax camera perfectly!
i also got a bunch of bear stickers for $1.00! i stuck them on some of our polaroids and on my camera. :)
after that we made a stop at her mom's house because i hadn't seen her mom in a while! i wouldn't say i was close to her mom by any stretch, but i spent a lot of time at her mom's house when we were kids and i thought it would be nice to visit her. :)
her mom was so sweet and funny haha! she gave us some grape jello? to eat and it was really good. she also gave me $100 O____O it was so unexpected and i felt really bad for taking it. but she said it was for me as i was moving and it just a very nice thing for her to do! i felt sad as we left because i had a lot of good memories at cindy's house when were kids haha and it made me miss being a kid again!
then we still didn't want to end our day! around this time was like 9pm? i think. most places were closing or already closed, so we headed over to the irvine spectrum where we got matching sweaters at h&m!
this sweater was only $5! it's such a cute baby blue pastel color, so soft and comfortable and i thought the font for the words was super cute. cindy got it as well :) now whenever we wear our sweaters we'll be reminded of each other!
i also ended up picking this AMAZING little twin stars pouch at h&m! it was $12.95, a little pricey but at the same time, i'm sure sanrio would sell it for much, much more so i consider myself lucky. i didn't know h&m had little twin star stuff! it was the only one i saw so i had to snatch it up. i don't know what i'll put in it exactly but i'll find a use for it. it's so cuteeee ahhhh
it has a lot of room! you could easily fit an ipad in here.
close up of the print. so cute. T^T
we took some last polaroids before we went home.
i'm so awkward at posing!
and my favorite picture of the night! it's so cute!
all in all, i had a really great day reconnecting with cindy. :) i'm so glad we did. she was my bestest friend and she always will be one of my best friends, even if i live in another city or another state. i hope to have her in my life always.
