i've been an admirer for cosplayers and cosplaying for a long time. i think there's something just so inspiring and cool about putting on a wig and a costume and becoming your favorite character. i've always wanted to do it, but was too shy and insecure to. also i never had the resources or money to do so, and seeing as i thought i never had a 'real' reason to cosplay, like going to a convention or something.
well, lately i've been thinking more and more about cosplay and i've really wanted to start one! luckily, i bought my 3-day ticket for new york comic con and now i have an excuse to fantasize and dream up a cosplay for myself. :) comic con is still months away, but here are few of ideas i've got buzzing in my head for the future :3

Those are some pretty cool cosplay ideas! I personally would definitly choose Kiki, because it's the most comfortable one and easiest for beginners. I used to cosplay back when I was 16, but that's soooo long ago.

DeleteThere is no such thing as needing a "real" reason to cosplay – just wanting to do it is more than enough! ;)
ReplyDeleteI definitely think that you should start cosplaying if it's something you've been interested in for a while! If you fancy the thought of being able to dress up as your favorite character then it's at least worth a try!
When I started cosplaying it was one of the best decisions I ever made and, since then, I've had a shitlot of fun, got a lot of new friends and had pure plain fun!
And remember that everyone and anyone can cosplay! There is no right or wrong way to do it, as long as you enjoy yourself (and don't hurt others or break laws!) that is all that matters! Good luck!

thank you for your encouraging comment! you're right, there is no real reason needed to cosplay. i was just very intimidated (and still am) by the whole idea! it's very daunting. but i'm slowly getting over that and getting more excited by it :-)
